Page 1 of 2 JAKARTA - The government hopes Regassification Floating Storage Unit (FSRU) can begin operation on March 1, 2012. Before the operation, the government will conduct commissioning in January 2012.
"We still expect the March 1, 2012 has begun to operate. Starting in early January, has begun commissioning, "said Director General of Oil and Gas and Mineral Resources Ministry Evita H. Legowo. Evita explained, if the commissioning went well, actually in February 2012, the FSRU is able to operate. However, its activities have not been able to do 100%. West Java FSRU constructed by PT Pertamina and PT PGN, with a capacity of 3 million tonnes of LNG per year, equivalent to the distribution of 400 million cubic feet of natural gas per day (MMSCFD) to be utilized for generating electricity Muara Karang and Tanjung Priok, Jakarta. Apart from West Java FSRU, the FSRU is also building in North Sumatra and Central Java. Construction of 3 FSRU is a mandate of Presidential Instruction No. 01 in 2010 to address the deficit above 200 MMSCFD of gas. With the LNG terminal infrastructure is expected to supply gas to a place far from the source gas can be done in the form of LNG shipments.
