akarta - PT Pertamina (Persero) will increase the import of fuel oil (BBM) for the anticipated surge in demand for consumption ahead of the fasting month and Lebaran.

"Yeah, right Eid, fasting alone would have started to increase (oil demand). It's only July, June is (increased demand). So do not kenceng gejolaknya relative," said Director of Marketing and Commerce PT Pertamina Djaelani Sutomo when met at the office of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Jakarta, Tuesday (05/07/2011).

Pertamina said the consumption of fuel type Premium on Fasting and Lebaran period would rise to 5% -7%.
"Usually, we import 6 million barrels a month. But it will be added 7.5 million barrels a month ahead of the fasting for Premium fuel," said Djaelani.

The additional supply of fuel is derived mostly from Korea. In addition, Pertamina is also more focus to import from Singapore.

Meanwhile, for fuel Solar, there will be an increase in demand at the beginning of the fasting month. This is due to an increased flow of goods transport vehicles.

"But diesel is good, there's no problem, it usually rises in the early days of fasting. Imports of diesel by 4 million in KL, but it's more business for Pertamina, not to the needs of PSO (subsidy). But for the industry as well. If for PSO is still over, "he explained.
