Page 1 of 2 Can a New Gas Supply, PLN save Rp 2.9 Trillion / YearJakarta - PT PLN (Persero) through its subsidiary, PT Indonesia Power, a 50 MMSCFD of gas supply sources Petrindo PT Perkasa (SPP). SOEs that could save the use of fuel oil (BBM) to Rp 2.9 trillion per year. As quoted from the written statement the company, on Thursday (30/06/2011), the gas will supply PLTGU Lorok Pond during the next 15 years. The gas is transported through gas pipelines with a diameter of 20 inches with a length of about 140 km pipeline from Block Gundih, Cepu to PLTGU Pond Lorok, Semarang. The pipeline will be grown in parallel on the shoulders of railway lines. As for the gas itself will begin to flow on July 1, 2013. Gas distribution project to PLTGU Lorok Pond is a very strategic project for the state interest. Among others, the potential savings of state subsidies on fuel is replaced with a gas reached U.S. $ 348 million or Rp. 2.9 trillion per year. This means the project for 15 years, saving the state subsidy that was recovered by the project reached almost Rp 44 trillion. When the third year the volume of gas increases from 50 MMSCFD to 180 MMSCFD, then the potential savings will be even greater state subsidies, which reached Rp 10.6 trillion per year. (ang / hen)
