JAKARTA. Government cq. PT PLN (Persero) continues berkesungguhan to combat power outages. International standards adopted as a target for each branch of PLN in Java and Bali, which have a power cut? 9 times per customer per year. A high target challenging and requires hard work. For power outages are not always technical problems. Natural factors such as heavy rain, lightning strikes, fallen trees, landslides and other natural disturbances are clearly beyond human control that could disrupt power supplies.

These figures changed dramatically in 2010. 36 cities / areas have managed to achieve international standards with a maximum of 9 times the number of outages per customer per year to live. Even in the city / area of North Bali extinction rates only once per customer per year. For Kramatjati area and Jatinegara, blackouts occur only 3 times per customer per year. As for Gambir and Priok area 4 times per customer per year, he added.

The success achieved by PLN's efforts as follows:
  • Trim trees that interfere with network
  • Install paralon pipe to wrap the cable network
  • Preparing substation unit moving (UGB)
  • Installation of distribution transformers 7000
  • Change from time based maintenance system management now becomes the base condition management
  • Multiply network inspection

On the generation side, 7 of the 10,000 MW power plant operating in 2011 will guarantee electricity supply in Java - Bali is more than enough. On the transmission, installation of five giant transformer with a capacity of 500 MVA each at Extra High Voltage substation (GITET) Bekasi, Cibatu, Gandul, Kembangan, and Cilegon really help to improve reliability of supply.

Not only that, the rapid reaction team to handle disturbances that have been trained and experienced, alert to overcome interference. Supported also by the Special Forces of PLN that is Team Work In-voltage condition (PDKB), a highly reliable maintenance and repair of electrical network without having to memadamankan electricity, he said.

Target 2011

In the year 2011, PLN still continue to reduce blackouts. 3 cities / areas in Java - Bali in 2010 that figure is still above 20 pemadamannya namely Pamekasan, South Banten, Sukabumi must already be? 9 times per customer per year. As for the 14 cities / areas in Java - Bali in 2010 that figure pemadamannya between 90-20 times, the maximum number pemadamannya to 9 times per customer per year.
