JAKARTA. Director of Marketing & Commerce Djaelani Sutomo Saturday (12/11/2010) yesterday officially launch the full operating  Main Transit Terminal (TTU), Tuban. Petroleum storage facilities with a capacity of 350,000 Kilo Liters (KL) will replace the floating storage facility that had been rented at a cost of USD 10 million per year. This is an effort of PT Pertamina (Persero) to increase fuel efficiency by improving distribution reliability reception facilities, fuel storage and distribution.

In his speech Djaelani said, that the operation of the TTU Tuban is a real step in the transformation of Pertamina's downstream sector to improve distribution efficiency and shows the seriousness of Pertamina in preparing facilities and improved services to face competition in the future.

He further operation of the TTU Tuban, as well as securing oil reserves for the East Java and also a buffer stock of fuel for East Indonesia. This terminal has 4 storage tanks each of 50,000 KL (Fixed Dome / Umbrella Roof Tanks), 3 storage tanks each measuring 30,000 KL (Fixed Dome / Umbrella Roof Tanks) and 3 tank size of 20,000 KL (Floating Roof Tanks) and one tank Solar 200 KL for own use. The terminal is connected with the installation of Surabaya Group (ISG) through 16-inch pipe along the 138 km with a pumping capacity of 650 KL / hr. Therefore, it can reduce the density of vessel traffic at the port of Tanjung Perak in Surabaya, because all the supply Diesel, Kerosene and Premium transferred to TTU Tuban and is pumped to the ISG at Tanjung Perak, Surabaya. The existence of this plumbing facilities increase the operating efficiency due to speed up delivery time and save on distribution costs.

TTU Tuban also with the total facility fuel receipts from the tanker (loading) through 2 pieces of Single Point Mooring (SPM), respectively 150,000 Dead Weight Tons (DWT) and 35,000 DWT, which can be operated simultaneously, and equipped with the means of distribution of terminal for shipping (back loading) capacity 35,000 DWT. For the distribution to the tank car is also equipped Tuban TTU 14 Filling Point and 4 bays. All activities receiving, stockpiling and distribution is done fully automatic system. For that, all storage tank facilities are equipped with instrumentation equipment (Automatic Tank Gauging, and other supporting ascesories) to support the creation of Terminal Automation System (TAS) that is operating the terminals based automation, with System Redundancy. All facilities have also been equipped with lightning protection equipment and other electrostatic interference as part of security operations.

Fuel demand in East Java itself consists of 9000 KL per day for premium and 5,500 KL diesel daily for a, which has been supplied from ISG Surabaya. Tank in the ISG include 49 000 KL Premium, Kerosene 22,000 KL, KL 40 000 Diesel Oil, Diesel Oil 15,000 KL, KL 26 500 Fuel Oil, 12,000 KL Fame, Pertamax Plus and Pertamax KL 2000 KL 9000. ISG also has been equipped with a system of new services to customers, through the operation of the New Gantry is a new term to replace the old Filling Shed, with Operating system TAS (Terminal Automation System). Furthermore, in ensuring customer satisfaction ISG also obtained ISO 9001:2000 certificate from DNV (Det Norske Veritas) with No.13264-2007-AQ-SNG-RVA. (SF) [esdm]
