 Jakarta, the Government has nearly completed a contract extension four oil and gas blocks namely Block A of Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam, South Sumatra, Central Sumatra Block Area, Block Bawean Java Sea and the Strait of Madura Block.

It is known that as many as six contractors cooperation contract (KKKS) has proposed an extension of the contract, Gull Resourches Canada to Block Bawean Java Sea, the JOA Pertamina Kodeco to Block Offshore West Madura, PT Medco E & P Malacca to Block A of Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam, Husky Oil ( Madura) Ltd. for Block Madura Strait, PT Medco E & P Indonesia for South Sumatra, Central Sumatra Block Area and Total E & P Indonesia for the Mahakam block.

The four blocks are given priority resolution extending the contract because the contract deadline nearing completion. For example, Block A, whose contract expires in 2011 to come.

Special Block A, Evita explained, in accordance with Law No. 11 on Aceh Government, the contract extension of cooperation to be read by the authorities of Aceh. Therefore, the draft contract is now in the hands of the authorities of Aceh for approval.
