JAKARTA: Kondur Petroleum SA, a subsidiary of PT Energi Mega Persada Tbk (EMP), began to develop a strong field in the working area of the Malacca Strait, following the signing of gas sales agreement (GSPA) with the Joint Operating Body (BOB) PT Bumi Siak Pusako-Pertamina Hulu Energy on August 30, 2010.

Communications & CSR Manager Kondur Petroleum Dahrul Hidayat revealed the development of oil and gas field is estimated to require an investment of U.S. $ 30 million-US $ 50 million, is expected to meet the commitment of delivery of gas 9 million cubic feet per day (MMscfd) or 1500 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd) .

"We've already started working in the field to develop an existing gas reserves because of the certainty of their purchase existing BOB. Delivery gas start in mid-2012 until 2020 with total sales of approximately 25 000 BBTU [billion british thermal unit)," he said yesterday.

According to him, the need for these investments include the drilling of oil and gas wells and the installation of 26 km long pips.
