JAKARTA. Province of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) amid a lack of supply and weak energy infrastructure, Proinsi NTT save geothermal potential to reach 1266 MW spread over 19 locations. A number of 16 locations on the island of Flores. Currently exploration has been conducted at two locations namely geothermal and Ulumbu Mataloko.

Geothermal potential in Ulumbu of 200 MW, of which proven reserves of 12.5 MW, while in Mataloko potential reach 63 MW, with proven reserves, has recently reached 2.5 MW. Amounted to 1.5 MW has been generated into electricity by the PLN. Government and NTT is committed to develop as an energy source three geothermal working areas that currently exist which Ulumbu, Sukoria and Mataloko.

Electrical conditions Prov. NTT, the peak load in 2009 in East Nusa Tenggara Province reached 89.33 MW of electricity sales until the year 2009 reached 381.78 GWh, with details, customer households 223.88 GWh (58.64%), business 98.7 GWh (25 , 85%), industry 4.31 GWh (1.13%) and public 54.89 GWh (14.38%).

Electrification ratio until the year 2009 is 87.95%. Conditions of electric networks in the region of Flores is very minimal. Based on data from PLN, Kupang, until now 70 kV interconnection of electricity transmission substations only connects at Power Plant 1 in Ropa NTT, the parent Sentry Sentry parent Ende and Maumere.
