JAKARTA: The National Energy Board proposes that the government abolish the sale of gas for export and to allocate the remaining gas reserves for domestic flights.

DEN members Mukhtasor say objectively use of gas for domestic needs has many advantages. Natural gas, he said, is cheaper than fuel husband, even though the price was pegged at economical levels.

The use of gas, he said, relative more clean and since it was more environmentally friendly than the use of other fossil energy sources. Gas resources, he said, is the mainstay of domestic energy to meet the needs today and in the future, in the increasingly thin national oil reserves

"The policies give priority to domestic gas does not conflict with the interests of the country to generate foreign exchange. In fact, with oil imports for domestic, at the same time the gas is exported, then the cumulative foreign exchange earnings at the expense of the state, "he explained in a press release this evening.

For that, says Mukhtasor, the government should prioritize the allocation of government of national gas to meet domestic needs and Reserved It for medium and long term needs. In fact, he said, DEN also proposed eliminating the government gnats and / or minimize the use of gas for export.

"Except for the long-term contracts already underway, which if terminated would have a greater risk the consequences," he said.

The government also encouraged to consider options for the immediate review of gas to replace imported fuel oil consumption by PLN and industries that still rely on fuel.

"The government should consider the opinion before deciding DEN energy policy or long-term impact, including the national gas allocation policy for both domestic and overseas market according to the mandate of the Law No.30/2007." (RST) By: Rudi Ariffianto (Bisnis. com)
