JAKARTA: The case of default of Dubai World is expected to influence the performance of the national mining activities, both oil and gas, and mining of mineral and coal.
In fact, the impact of default is estimated to decrease the impact of the consumption volume of the LNG export market (liquefied natural gas) Indonesia to Japan, Taiwan, and South Korea.
Deputy Chief Executive Agency for Upstream Oil and Gas (BP Migas) Hadi Purnomo admitted that the government is now calculating how much impact defaulted on Dubai World's LNG demand reduction in the export market.
"That's how much influence is still studied, but we're currently evaluating the impact on LNG demand reduction," he said yesterday.
However, the domestic market is expected to be ready to accommodate the LNG that was intended for export when it occurs due to decreased demand for Dubai World's case.

Likewise, the Directorate General of Mineral, Coal and Geothermal Department of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bambang Setiawan said the case reflects Dubai World is expected to drop in world commodity prices mines.

Evaluation
On the other hand, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Darwin Zahedy Saleh admitted that the government with relevant stakeholders to evaluate the balance of the gas in the country to ensure security of domestic gas supply.
"The discussion about the evaluation of the balance of the gas was already done so we can know which areas of surplus and deficit," he said.
