PT Pertamina (Persero) have the potential to reduce imports of high
octane mogas components (HOMC) of approximately 7 million barrels per
year if the company completed the residue fluid catalytic cracking
project (RFCC) Cilacap a capacity of 62 000 barrels per day in 2013.
General Manager of Pertamina's Cilacap Refinery Unit IV Cilacap Syofrinaldy said RFCC low back function to process the residue produced from processing unit 2 Cilacap refinery. Of a total capacity of 62 000 bpd, he said, the company estimates that 40% or about 25,000 bpd of which will produce premium products with octane rating 92 or equivalent Pertamax. During this time, he said, RU Cilacap HOMC from Balongan bring as many as five of cargo per year with each containing about 200,000 barrels of cargo. With RFCC, he says, RU Cilacap no longer use HOMC from outside the refinery. "During this time, we bring in approximately 4-5 per year of cargo HOMC Balongan to increase octane premium, and partly also from imports. Given that RFCC HOMC from outside is no longer needed and can be used by other refineries," he said yesterday . Engineering & Development Manager of Pertamina Cilacap RU Dadi Sugiana add besides getting HOMC from Balongan, Cilacap refinery has also produced its own HOMC 35 000 bpd capacity. HOMC production came from the platformer unit a unit of 15 000 bpd and 25,000 bpd platformer second. With a production capacity of 92 octane premium, he said, RFCC fuel supply was estimated to provide about 7 million barrels per year. "If the operating assumption of a full year, production could be 9 million barrels. But there are other factors, such as maintenance and so forth. What is clear, with the addition, Pertamina could reduce the import premium. As known, Pertamina plans to build RFCC worth U.S. $ 1.5 billion. Previously planned projects in partnership with Mitsui is targeted to operate in 2013. Bidder Syofrinaldy previously said the company hoped the winning bidder project contractor will be done this month. RFCC physical projects that will produce LPG, propylene, gasoline and fuel industries such as industrial fuel oil and diesel were also expected to have done in 2011. He added that Blue Sky Cilacap refinery projects to process into fuel products Naphta planned capacity of 17 000 bpd.
