Of pride when the world's geothermal grand event "World Geothermal Congress (WGC) in 2010," held at the Bali International Convention Centre, 25-30 April 2010, attended by two people the President, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono as the host, and the number one man Iceland's President Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson.

President of Iceland, in 2010 the opening WGC said his country is a country living from geothermal. In a country of volcanoes, the use of geothermal energy not only to meet the electricity needs of households or industry, but also use geothermal to meet the transportation needs, especially for vehicles that use electricity as a source of energy.

"Geothermal energy has a lot to help Iceland to remain to survive," said President Ólafur. Geothermal community has helped the economy of Iceland, by providing a cheap electric heater for the community, housing, and corporate. With a geothermal well, he added, Iceland developed into a destination country investors with the construction of the smelter plant, technology-based industries, and various other businesses.

President Ólafur present, the utilization of geothermal energy in Iceland is not from the policies conducted by governments, but the initiative came from the people who see the potential in the vicinity of the volcano. This initiative is supported entirely by the government later.

To Indonesia that have geothermal resources are abundant, President Ólafur advised to continue improving geothermal projects both in the various regions. Development of geothermal projects in areas important to do because the heat of the earth is not only required as power plants, but also a major source of economic improvement, including for mitigation of climate change and environmentally friendly energy.

Currently, carrying five Geothermal Power Plant (PLTP) grew up in Iceland to meet the electricity needs of approximately 24% of the population of 500 000 inhabitants. Fifth Generation PLTP is Svartsengi, Plant Nesjavellir, Krafla Power Plant, Power Plant Hellisheioi, and Reykjanes Power Plant. Plant and Plant Svartsengi Nesjavellir generate electricity and hot water, while the other three only produce electricity. [esdm]
