Jakarta - Executive Agency for Upstream Oil and Gas (BP Migas) recorded a number of payment transactions for goods and services procurement contracts in upstream oil and gas sector through state banks reached U.S. $ 4.69 billion, or around Rp 45 trillion.
"Since June 2009 until now, we record the payment transaction through state-owned banks such as Bank Mandiri, BNI and BRI for U.S. $ 4.69 billion," said Deputy Head of BP Migas, Hardiono.

He delivered it in a workshop 'To Financial Breakthrough for Financing Provider of Domestic Goods and Services on Upstream Oil and Gas' at Balai Kartini, Jakarta, Thursday (15/4/2010).

Based on the records of BP Migas, the procurement of goods and services transactions are conducted through state-owned banks began June 1, 2009 until April 9, 2010 for the bank Mandiri amounting to U.S. $ 3.161 billion, followed by BNI U.S. $ 565.266 million, then BRI for U.S. $ 522.35 million, Sharia independent of U.S. $ 291.308 million and a consortium of Mandiri and BNI U.S. $ 84.62 million.

Hardiono believes the involvement of state-owned banks in the upstream oil and gas sector activities will continue to increase in line with BP Migas commitment to continue supporting and developing the national industry to better compete both at the national, regional and international.

For that, Hardiono hope that these state-owned banks can provide competitive interest dibandingkankan private banks and foreign banks.

"It would be better if state-owned banks can attract cheap funds from within and abroad to finance all petroleum activities in Indonesia," he said.

On the same occasion, Hardiono also asked the providers of goods and services more active role to improve the quality of their products so as to meet the needs KKKS.

"It should be no change in behavior. Do not just sebaai agents from abroad, but to be an entrepreneur who is able to produce goods and services to meet domestic demand," he said.
