- Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati said, there are likely
targets of economic growth in 2010 revised upward RAPBNP more than 5.5
percent in the discussions with the Parliament.
"The possibility of upward revision of growth is very possible," said Finance Minister in a series of workshops Journalists Forum of Financial Economics and Monetary (Forkem) in Jakarta on Friday. The minister said, revising upwards the economic growth was made possible by the recovery of exports and imports, consumption levels are still strong, and investment recovery. "Consumption is estimated to still strong especially with the growth rate which shows reinforcement," he said. Finance Minister also mentioned that in times of global crisis some time ago, Indonesia is one of the 3 countries that economic growth remained positive. "Investors will start looking for alternatives beyond China so this is a challenge for us to improve the investment climate, continue to implement reform of the bureaucracy," he said. The Government will convey information about changes in the 2010 state budget to the House Budget Board on Friday afternoon. Number of assumptions, such as changing the assumption of inflation went from 5.0 percent to 5.7 percent, the rates of 10,000 to Rp9.500 per U.S. dollar, 3-month SBI interest rate of 6.5 per cent to Rp7, 0 percent, and oil prices from 65 dollars to 77 dollars per barrel.
