JAKARTA, Composite Stock Price Index (CSPI) failed to stay above 2900 levels. However, the index managed to create a new record. This time, the index was in the position of 2898.58 after rising 0.61 percent.
The new position was to beat the index level which occurred on two days ago. At that time, JCI record that has endured since January 2008 and the 2887.25.
 
Earlier, on the first trading session the index had time to penetrate the 2900 borders. However, due to some profit-taking, the index slipped back towards the close today.
 
Trading was fairly crowded on the day. This is indicated by the large transactions that reached Rp 5.92 trillion, with as many as 139,035 times the frequency of trading.
 
Strengthening this time the index was supported by the increase in the share price of PT Astra International Tbk (ASII). Largest automotive company's stock price was sticking 0.44 percent to Rp 45,500. Previously, ASII prices could touch USD 46,100 per share.
 
Index increase was also supported by the strengthening of the stock price of PT Adaro Energy Tbk (Adro). The stock price's second largest mining company in Indonesia rose 2.38 percent to USD 2150 per share.
 
In addition, the movement of the index also jacked by an increase in the shares of PT Semen Gresik Tbk (SMGR). Shares of the biggest local cement producer rose 1.23 percent to Rp 8,250 per share.
 
Meanwhile, the strengthening of the index in fact undermined by the movement of shares of PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI). EARTH prices tumbled 2.94 percent to USD 2475 per share. EARTH addition, the stock price of PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGAS) and PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk (TLKM) also fell down.
