JAKARTA, rupiah exchange rate against the U.S. dollar in the Jakarta interbank spot market on Thursday (10/12/2009) morning rose close to USD 9400 per U.S. dollar, as market players began to buy dollars, after three days in a row the local currency is weakening.
The rupiah against the dollar rose 17 points to USD 9418-USD 9425 per U.S. dollar compared to the previous day's closing USD 9435-USD 9445.

Retail Banking Director of PT Bank Mega Tbk, Kostaman Thayib in Jakarta Thursday said the strengthening of the rupiah, because the actors began to take off dollar after a rise of three consecutive days. Kostaman said positive market was also supported by foreign investor confidence in the Indonesian economy is getting better assessed, they are more actively encouraged to place their funds in the domestic market. "Indonesia is even expected to make use of the growing global growth faster than the previous Estimates," he said.

Because of Indonesia's economic growth in 2010 expected to grow faster than before.
