Jakarta - The Indonesian government was trying to be a panel / solar cell as a whole can be produced in the country, so no need to import. "Roadmap (road map) was already there, living a meeting with the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (Energy and Mineral Resources) and the other to build a solar panel industry," said Coordinating Minister Hatta Rajasa in Jakarta on Friday. He mentions, there are two options that solar cells could be developed that is used (using silicone materials) and the thinner. "For this problem we will have views of the Research and Technology (Ministry of Research and Technology) to choose the best," he said. On the amount of investment needed to produce their own solar panels, Hatta said, to the usual require an investment of Rp30-50 billion. "If the last technology of glass films, I do not know how, will be presented, certainly more expensive," he said. Hatta said the use of solar cells to convert solar energy into electricity is cheaper in the maintenance and easier to use. "It (solar cells) can be used anywhere, but especially for areas that do not eletrifikasi, such as the outer islands, small islands, coastal areas, or say that has not been connected to electricity," he said. Hatta mentions, PT Lembaga Elektronika Nasional (LEN) is already producing electricity-producing solar panels but the core components still to be imported. When asked whether the government will inject funds into the LEN in order to produce your own with a larger amount, Hatta said he will meet with State Minister for SOEs to discuss the issue. "Indeed we did not prioritize the use of the state budget because of the business development of solar device is possible in Indonesia," he said. He mentions, the use of solar panels have become popular, including to the streets and houses. "That made LEN, but its main elements are still imported. Here's what we will create in Indonesia, due to market (the market) we are quite broad," he said. He mentions, LEN at Bandung itself already using solar energy to electricity with a capacity of about 8,000 watts. "We expect the plant will be producing the equivalent of about 50 MW per year," said Hatta. (*) (ANTARA News)
