Jakarta - Secretary of State Minister for Planning / Principal Secretary for National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) Syahrial Loetan said it was reviewing direct subsidies for the people that use 450 watts of electricity down.

"Still studied the mechanisms of administration. But we expect, all the people that use 450 watts of electricity down, it could be subsidies," he said in Jakarta, Friday, (5 / 12).

He said the study on electricity subsidies are not finished. When eventually completed, the study will be proposed to the government. 


According to him, direct subsidies to the public under 450 watts of electricity users under intended as a form of compensation to the people's purchasing power is not eroded, in addition to the investment is expected to develop power plants in Indonesia.

"If 450 watts of electricity should we subsidize, but if the electricity to the business and elite housing, yes we can love tariff economies. In the future, it should slowly so that the investor has an investment interest in the sector. In essence, there will be a transition period raise electricity tariffs, at least a period of three years, "he said.

He said the development of electricity sector investment is still low, mainly because it is still considered less profitable. To encourage the development of the electricity sector to be better then the need for a competitive price.

According to him, the electricity sector to encourage investment is expected also to encourage other investment.

"Because often complained of this for a guarantee of supply of electricity," he said.

Meanwhile, Member of Division VI Commission Industry, Trade, SMEs and state House of Representatives, Edhy Prabowo, said the need for transparency in the granting of subsidies.

"The Government and PLN had to be transparent about the number of list subscribers 
 can get subsidies. Tell me all kinds of customers who have so clearly who should be subsidized," he said.

According to him, electricity subsidies should be given to domestic customers with a capacity up to 1300 watts, because now many civil servants (PNS) which uses 1300 watts of electric power. Thus becomes an important consideration for involving users 1300 watts of electricity to obtain these subsidies.

"For domestic customers in over 1300 watts, just released to the economical price," he said.

In addition, he said the provision should also be distinguished electricity rates for businesses, especially for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). According to him, SMEs should not be priced economics.
