Page 1 of 2 Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Darwin Zahedy Saleh, on Thursday (6 / 5) received a delegation visited the National Oil Corporation of Libya (NOC) led by Dr. Shokri Ghanem. Delegation Visits Libya NOC aims to strengthen kinship and cooperation between Indonesia and Libya, particularly in the oil and gas (oil). When giving his speech, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources said that the energy sector in Indonesia has an important role in developing the national economy. "The role of the energy sector showed significantly from several indicators, namely as a source of state revenue, domestic energy and raw materials, labor and other chain effects. Especially for oil and gas, this sector has contributed about one fifth (one-fifth) of total state revenues ", said Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources. In that occasion the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources also explained that the Indonesian Government has provided fiscal policy as part of its investment policy. "Besides, we also have to reform and reorganize regulatory frameworks for the energy industry in Indonesia for the sake of realizing a favorable investment climate in the energy and mineral sectors," continued the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources. The meeting, which lasted close the ranks of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, accompanied by first-echelon officials and Special Staff of Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, head of BP Migas and the President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero). In this meeting also attended representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia and the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce. Meanwhile, the addition Shokri Ghanem, Libya's NOC delegation was also accompanied by the Libyan Ambassador to Indonesia Salahedin M. EL. Bishari. Furthermore, in a session of presentations and discussions, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources provides exposure of the strategy and policy in the oil and gas sector, cooperation opportunities in the field of training and education as well as cooperation opportunities in research and development of EMR. Cooperation between the Ministry of Energy and the NOC has been realized with the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) the two parties on February 7, 2008 in Tripoli. They are areas of cooperation include upstream exploration, exploitation, and utilization of energy and minerals; activity through participation and downstream of the refinery project development, training, research and development programs in the fields of energy and minerals as well as promotion of cooperation between isntitusi petroleum and scientific centers.
