Page 1 of 2 Director General of Oil and Natural Gas on Friday April 30, 2010, conduct coordination meetings with relevant agencies ie Kemenakertrans, PUSLABFOR Bareskrim Police, Government of DKI, PT Pertamina (Persero) and ranks in the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (Inspector General, the Legal Bureau, Directorate General of Oil and Gas) discusses LPG use in public safety. All relevant agencies (Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Kemenakertrans, PUSLABFOR Police Criminal Investigation Body, PT Pertamina (Persero), Jakarta Government) support for kerosene to LPG, which dates from 2007, which currently has distributed close to 50 million tubes, in the form 3 kg LPG cylinders complete with accessories (Indonesian National Standard, SNI) and its contents. Agencies mentioned above are committed together to support efforts that will be done in the future to prevent fires caused by LPG. Explosion of LPG is often the case lately in the community based on the result of an investigation by the Police Criminal Investigation Body PUSLABFOR, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, and Kemenakertrans slightly higher compared with the early years of kerosene to LPG. From these data, it was known that the maintenance of the tube as well as accessories such as the possibility of leaking hoses, rubber seals and the failure of the regulator needs the attention of users of LPG, and the need for increased guidance and oversight from the government. Efforts will be made, among others, to socialize intensively and more detail to the public in the form of animation, the brochures are easily understood by ordinary people about the safe handling and maintenance of tubes and accessories as well as preventive measures that need to be taken in case of leakage of LPG . The government will improve quality control of all the tubes and accessories (hoses, rubber seals and regulators) to follow the Indonesian National Standard (SNI), including increased monitoring of the tube and accessories that have been circulating in the market. For oversight by agencies other than the above, KESDM in this case would involve the Directorate General of Oil and Gas and LSPro BSN. The police will improve the close supervision of the criminal behaviors that potentially harm the public. It also will be programmed to supervise the manufacture of hoses, rubber seals and regulators to ensure the fulfillment of SNI.
