JAKARTA. To generate electricity the Government cq. PT PLN (Persero) use different kinds of fuel for generators such as coal, gas, geothermal and water. The sidelines of a visit to the Landfill Integrated (TPST) Bantargebang some time ago, President Director of PLN, Dahlan Iskan stating that coal is economical too.

Plant fuel use is closely related to the level of efficiency against the cost of production (BPP). for the time being by the Director of PT PLN, Dahlan Iskan, coal has the highest efficiency when compared with other fuels.

"For now, the most expensive electricity, investment and the price is coal. It costs roughly 1 Kwh was approximately USD 500 or USD 600 ", said Dahlan.

The second position is the efficiency level of Water Power (hydropower), for further hydropower Dahlan really cheap but expensive investment but the fact that PLN must buy electricity from micro hydro power plant (MPP) is USD 787 per Kwh. Furthermore, the number three is a gas price of approximately USD 900 per Kwh and the fourth position is the fuel with a price range around USD 1800 per Kwh.

For Solar Power Plant (hydro power plant) if it is used day and night worth USD 2500 to USD 3000 per Kwh same as Solar Power Plant (PLTS).
