3 WKP West Java Geothermal Ready Auctions

JAKARTA. In the year 2010, the Government of West Java province will again auction off three Working Area Mining (WKP) geothermal. Areas offered include geothermal WKP Mount Papandayan in Garut regency, Gunung Gede-WKP Pangrango Cianjur regency, and Mount Ciremai WKP Kuningan District.

The potential of the three WKP which will soon be auctioned on average about 150 MW. Capacity is much larger than the three previous WKP which has now published the Mining Business License (IUP) it. IUP has been submitted to the tender winner in mid geothermal and January 2010.

Three WKP who has published his IUP is Mount Tampomas WKP Sumedang District (20-50 MW), Cisukarame Cisolok WKP Sukabumi (30-45 MW), and WKP Tangkuban Perahu (100 MW) situated between Subang Regency, Bandung , and Purwakarta.

Mountain geothermal WKP Tampomas are in an area of 27,010 ha and is handled by PT Jabar Geothermal Power Wika. Tender WKP Cisolok Cisukarame geothermal area of 15,580 ha was won by PT Jabar Mist Geothermal, while WKP Boat Tangkuban 44,710 ha area is now handled PT Tangkuban Geothermal Power Boat.

Geothermal potential in the region of West Java on 43 points with the capacity to produce about 6,000 MW (about 21% of the total geothermal potential in Indonesia). [esdm]
