contribution of state enterprises is still low and the state of the
existing 132 SOEs in 2009 only gave the income as much as Rp86, 32
trillion, says management expert Tanri Abeng.
Speaking at a Forum Communications Enterprises in Central Java and Yogyakarta (DIY) in Semarang, Thursday, he declared that China had only 131 SOEs, last year contributed about Rp1.500 trillion. Indonesian SOEs should be given income countries is greater than now when the condition of the majority of enterprises red plate is indeed a healthy and profitable. According to her, the low contribution of these SOEs caused only a small portion that is able to achieve significant gains. Of the 132 state enterprises, said the former Minister of State Enterprises, gains 13 SOEs dominate the remittance to the state treasury the amount of Rp73, 74 trillion, or 85.4 percent of the total benefits the entire state. The 13 SOEs were, among others, PT Pertamina, PT Telkom, PT PLN, BRI, Bank Mandiri, and others. Meanwhile, 119 other SOEs gives little benefit significantly, even dozens of SOEs have been losing streak. For SOEs are losing money continuously, Tanri said, this company should be released or sold to private because the scale may be seen from his efforts did not class as an SOE. "The government must act immediately if it is aware of most of the money-losing SOEs should be sold," he said. He added the results of privatization can be used to develop the sectors of the restructured SOEs. Tanri assess existing misunderstanding about privatizing SOEs which have been developed. Privatization, he said, actually let go of state control over SOEs, but this happened during the release of shares under 50 percent is considered privatization. "It's not privatization, but the restructuring of capital, because if only sell 20 percent stake, the government remains the controlling state enterprises," he said. He considered going backwards thinking logic, namely the results of privatization are used to pay foreign debt so that privatization becomes a bad image in the public eye. According to him, the results of privatization are not used to pay off debt, especially foreign debt, but to strengthen the capital structure of SOEs in order to "go international". Some advantages of this, he said, which should be used to pay debt. (ANT202/M028) (ANTARANews - Jefri Aries)
