London
- British Prime Minister Gordon Brown said Monday that oil prices "too
high" in the middle of the estimated data show that annual inflation
had risen supported the rising cost of crude oil. "I certainly believe oil prices are too high right now, and I want to see us work together to keep oil prices down," Brown told the BBC's local radio station. He added that he was "determined to keep costs down as much as possible" but did not specify how he would try to do this. Annual inflation in the UK are affected by the recession has increased to 2.9 percent in December, partly due to higher crude oil costs and changes in tax rates, official data showed last month. Official data for January, which will come out Tuesday, is expected to show that the annual inflation rose to 3.7 percent, according to economists surveyed by Dow Jones Newswires. Oil prices higher gasoline costs and improve heating fuel to consumers. World oil prices traded between 70-80 dollars after experiencing great volatility in the second half of 2008, when they went from record highs of 147 dollars a barrel to just 32 dollars within a period of approximately six months. | Antaranews.com | tenderoffer.biz |
